Best Bath Towel That Actually Adds Value

What we have here is our failure to find the best bath towels to buy for a reasonable price tag. This leaves us soaked and moped.

We have all used cheap bath sheet towels and let’s agree they aren’t very cheerful. They fade and become hard and crusty after a few washes. Suitable for a Motel 6 I would imagine. Buying the best bath towel or sheet for that unparalleled luxurious, cozy feeling is, however, easier than you think.

It’s the old conundrum, should I buy cheap bath sheet towels and buy it several times over as it wears out or invest in the expensive option that will last much longer. It is called ‘false economy’.

You will inevitably end up spending more on cheap bath sheets and towels over the same period than the one expensive purchase.

The best bath towels to buy for your home should be made out of natural long fiber cotton that dries fast, preventing germs from growing.

You don’t have to buy the most expensive towel for it to be a great towel. Considering the vast amount on offer, you’ll definitely be able to find the one that’s right for you.

All towels and bath sheets are going to be subject to a lot of water, which often leaves a trail of damage in its wake. Cheap bath towels and sheets will begin to disintegrate soon after exposure to water once or twice a day.

The best towels to buy today are far more resilient. They are colorfast, breathable, quick-drying, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial. Plus, excellent quality of the fabric contributes to the long-life of the towel.

Contrary to popular belief, not all big and fluffy towels are as absorbent as some of their thinner, lighter counterparts.

Italian and Turkish style thinner and lighter towels have great absorbency and dry quickly which make them a great choice if you plan on taking one to the gym or on a getaway.

The Ethohome bath towel is lightweight, made from long-staple cotton that’s fast-drying, yet highly absorbent, perfect to wrap around after a long hot bath.

Towel Care

Luxury towels are finished with a fabric softener that makes towels appear fluffier and softer but this also reduces their absorption.

Wash your new towels as normal with a little vinegar before using or soak them in warm water for a quarter of an hour. You can wash towels together but don’t cram them in. Leave plenty of room for them to soak, wash and rinse well. If they don’t rinse well, they will become stiff.

Ideally, air-dry your towels and finish on a fairly low heat in the dryer to fluff them up. Too much tumble-drying can damage the cotton.

Try to avoid taking your best bath towels to places like the beach. Exposure to sun, heat, salt-water and sand will damage the cotton fibers, resulting in a shorter towel life. There are special beach towels more apt to handle the beach conditions.
